    If you work with an FSE theme (the future of WordPress) this is an absolute must-have. What the plug-in ‘If menu’ does for the classic themes does this plug-in (and more) for FSE Block themes. Note: Not yet tested with the Kadence Navigation (ADV) Block.

    Font Squirrel - Font Generator
    Font Squirrel – Font Generator heeft een grote collectie (meestal gratis) fonts / lettertypes. Deze zijn wel bruimbaar voor grafisch werk (het zijn ttf bestanden) maar vaak niet geschikt voor omzetting naar webfonts. Wat Font Squirrel – Font Generator echter heel goed doet, is de functie waarin je een font upload (vaak een ttf ofwel truetype file) bijvoorbeeld van Google fonts, en daar weer een web font van maakt, dus een woff of woff2 bestand. Een woff bestand is veel kleiner dan een ttf bestand en maakt je website dus sneller. Een woff lettertype bestand is gemiddeld 60 tot 80% kleiner.

    Google fonts lettertypes
    Google biedt een geweldige font collectie. Deze zijn bruikbaar voor grafisch (druk)werk en voor het internet. Deze zijn gratis beschikbaar. Als je een webbuilder gebruikt die Google fonts heeft geïntegreerd, hoef je niets te doen om deze fonts te gebruiken. Je kunt de fonts (lettertypes) ook downloden, meestal als .ttf bestand en deze hosten op je eigen server. Dat komt privacy misschien ten goede, maar de bestandsgrootte niet. Werken met de standaard manier van Google (aanroepen op een pagina) is bijna altijd de snelste manier, ook omdat Google het lettertype elke keer aanpast aan de vraag van de browser, en ongebruikte variaties niet meestuurt.     Bepaal welke menu-items bezoekers van uw site zien, met zichtbaarheidsregels. Hier zijn een paar voorbeelden: Geef een menu-item alleen weer als User is ingelogd. Verberg een menu-item op mobiel. Alleen menu’s weergeven voor Admins and Editors. Verberg Login of Registreer links voor ingelogde Users. Alleen menu’s weergeven voor Customers met een actief membership. Toon menu’s op basis van de taal van de bezoekers. Nadat de plug-in is ingeschakeld, krijgt menu-item een ​​nieuwe optie ‘Menu-item zichtbaarheid wijzigen’ waarmee je zichtbaarheidsregels kunt selecteren. LET OP: deze plug-in is alleen geschikt voor de classic thema;s, dus werkt niet met FSE-thema’s.     Als je een manier zoekt om bepaalde menu-items onder bepaalde voorwaarden wel of niet te tonen, is dit de ideale plug-in. Ik gebruik de If menu plug-in regelmatig voor bijvoorbeeld leden websites, of Learndash sites met speciale menu-items voor de beheerders en leraren.

    Local Google Fonts
    Host de gebruikte Google lettertypen op de server en zorg dat de website voldoet aan de AVG. Ongeveer 50 miljoen websites maken gebruik van Google Fonts en in januari 2022 oordeelde een Duitse rechtbank dat het gebruik van Google Fonts een schending is van de Europese AVG (Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming). Daarnaast kost het tijd voor een browser om een lettertype te downloaden bij Google, en op de eigen server hosten kan je website een stuk sneller maken. Deze plug-in heeft meer dan 100.000 gebruikers.

(2) Ga naar een willekeurige pagina en start SelectorGadget. (3) Er wordt een veld geopend in de rechterbenedenhoek van de website. (4) Klik op een pagina-element dat je wilt laten matchen met uw selector (het wordt groen). (5) SelectorGadget genereert vervolgens een minimale CSS-selector voor dat element en markeert in geel alles wat overeenkomt met de selector. Klik nu op een gemarkeerd element om het uit de selector te verwijderen (rood), of klik op een niet gemarkeerd element om het toe te voegen aan de selector. Door dit proces van selecteren en afwijzen helpt SelectorGadget u de perfecte CSS-selector voor uw behoeften te vinden.
